This traditional gimbal mounted compasses is very popular in classic yachts and is fitted with a flat black card apparent size 100mm that can be read from the helm position. The mounting bracket can be removed from the mounting plate so that the compass can be securely stored. The compass rose is marked every 2.5 degrees and is easily read.
